Creative Writing Prompts for Your Children
Whether your children are exploring new places, visiting family, or just enjoying some well-deserved rest at home, all these moments are a great opportunity to tap into their creativity!
So here are a few writing prompts that will build their storytelling skills, and a wonderful way to spend their time.
- The Unwritten Chapter
- What to do: Use your Kasuku pen to write a creative ‘missing’ chapter from your favorite Kenyan hero’s story.
- Educative Twist: Think about the ‘who, what, where, when, why’ of your story. Who was there? What happened? Where and when did it happen? Why was it important?
- My Favorite School Trip Ever
- What to do: Breakdown what your favorite school trip has been so far. Where did you go? What new thing did you learn? What made you laugh the most?
- Educative Twist: What made it so fun? Do you still talk about it with your classmates?
- The Matatu Scene
- What to do: Write about the vibrant matatu culture to someone who has never used one before. What makes it so uniquely Kenyan?
- Educative Twist: Capture specific moments like the music being played or colors of the graffiti to bring your story to life.
Grab your favorite Kasuku notebook or exercise book and pen to unleash your creativity and document your unique stories. Every page is a new adventure waiting to happen!
